HISTORY OF PHILOSOPHY

Although my first publication was on Leibniz, I haven't written much in the history of philosophy, and since my Leibniz paper, the little that I've written has been done with an eye to contemporary controversies.

1992:  "The 'Possibility' of a Categorical Imperative:  Kant's Groundwork, Part III", Philosophical Perspectives, 6, 261-284.
1980:  "Hobbes on Artificial Persons and Collective Actions", The Philosophical Review, 89, pp 579-606.
1979:  "The Iterated-Utilitarianism of J.S. Mill", Canadian Journal of Philosophy, Supplementary Volume V, pp 75-98.
1973:  "Leibniz's Thesis that not all Possibles are Compossible", Studia Leibnitiana, 5, pp 26-42.
